Michael McGovern

Michael McGovern is a Glasgow-based Scottish singer-songwriter known for his delicate folk music. His debut album, Highfield Suite, showcases his poignant voice alongside acoustic guitar, piano, and harmonies, drawing comparisons to Leonard Cohen, Big Thief, and Paul Simon. The album received widespread praise across the UK and Ireland, leading Michael to tour extensively throughout Europe. In 2023, he made his Canadian debut at the Vancouver Island Music Festival. Now preparing for his second album, Michael’s storytelling shines through songs like “Ode to Laurie” and “The Harbour.” He embarks on his first Home Routes tour in Ontario this year.
