From the moment you lay eyes on Vancouver’s surf rock ‘n’ roll duo Kitty & The Rooster, it’s evident that they defy the norm. In fact, it’s hard to know what to expect from them until they let loose with their larger-than-life sound. Consisting of Jodie Ponto on the stand-up cocktail drumkit and Noah Walker on electric guitar, the very nature of this band demands that audiences commit to the bit just as much as they have. They’ve earned their reputation for laugh-out-loud lyrics and ridiculously fun shows by touring all over Canada, having played, as they put it, “a cluck-ton” of festivals.
