Lynne Hanson
While regularly drawing comparisons to Lucinda Williams and Gillian Welch, Lynne Hanson proudly bears her own title as “Canada’s Queen of Americana.” Hanson’s distinctive voice and poetic lyrics set her apart and have earned her high praise for her gritty, blues and folk-influenced brand of Americana.
Described as a contemporary fusion of mainstream hipness and retro musicality, Hanson’s live performances are driven by high-energy, roots guitar vibes. Her authentic connection with audiences, showcased in solo acts—or with her band, the Good Intentions—is both entertaining and disarming. Known for her charm and humour on stage, Hanson’s spontaneity and honesty enchant audiences.
With a 17-year solo career, Hanson boasts eight studio albums and two poetry books. Her prolific songwriting has taken her on extensive tours across North America, Europe, and the UK, gracing major festivals such as Take Root, Glasgow Americana, and Maverick Festival. Having supported Grammy-nominated artists like Gretchen Peters and Steve Forbert, Hanson’s performances are hailed for their magnetic appeal.
