Mimi O’BonSAwin
Mimi O’Bonsawin is a contemporary roots singer-songwriter hailing from Northeastern Ontario. With her Franco-Ontarian and Abenaki roots, O’Bonsawin creates rhythm and story-driven songs that embrace the beauty of the land—a process that she describes as being akin to growing food.
O’Bonsawin’s latest album, Willow, is genuine and rooted—drawing inspiration from the land, and emphasizing real and live-recorded instruments. Elle danse (2020), her self-produced French EP, earned nominations at the Trille Or Awards and recognition on ELMNT FM’s top 10 Best Albums of 2020.
Noelle Frances
Noelle Frances is a folk singer-songwriter based in Deshkan Ziibi/London, Ontario. Frances, part of the internationally touring band The Pairs and a solo performer, has a deep musical understanding fostered through years of choir and orchestra training.
Having opened for acts like Irish Mythen and Kellie Loder, Frances infuses simplicity, honesty, and deep emotion into her folk music. With The Pairs, she has graced iconic folk festivals like Mariposa, Summerfolk, Hillside, Calgary Folk Fest, and more. Frances’ performances are a blend of lighthearted banter and emotionally charged, uplifting songs that delve into the angst and beauty of life.
