pat byrne

Pat Byrne has an (award-winning) way of blending Irish traditional folk with North American folk, creating a unique “Irish Americana” sound. Which makes a lot of sense, for someone who grew up in County Carlow, immersed in and idolizing Irish musicians, and who, as a musician himself, found inspiration in American songwriters. With the realization that all of his favourite musicians made it big in Texas—Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clarke and James McMurtry all played regularly in Austin—Byrne moved to Texas himself where he has regularly been greeted by sell-out crowds.

Bryne has kept busy touring the festival circuit, and after a successful stint in Ontario in 2023, he’s eager to explore more of Canada and discover what other cultural similarities it may share with his native Ireland.
