The Pairs
Hillary Watson, Renée Coughlin, and Noelle Frances Coughlin form the award-winning folk trio The Pairs. Together, they create music that achieves perfect harmonies, a feat that seems achievable only through the unique connection of sisterly voices, offering the perspectives of three unique songwriters and classically trained vocalists with diverse musical roots. They joke that the trio is their form of a group therapy session that has effectively changed their lives for the better and continues to expand to include all of us.
Since their 2016 inception, their album, Noise, has earned them national and international acclaim, and the awards for 2020 Folk Music Ontario Songwriter of the Year and the Folk/Roots Forest City London Music Award in 2021.
Their new album, When Will We Find Our Way? (October 2023), reflects moments of self-reckoning and a narrative of unmet expectations in life and love. The Pairs continue to evolve, creating a musical tapestry that resonates with authenticity and connection that’s guaranteed to please audiences.
